What We Install
Exit Device Types for Every Commercial Door
Panic bars come in several styles, and the right choice depends on your door type, frame, fire rating, and how the exit is used day to day. We carry commercial-grade hardware and install the correct device for your situation.
- Rim exit devices - The most common type. A surface-mounted push bar retracts a latch at the door frame. Works on single doors and is easy to service.
- Vertical rod exit devices - Rods extend from the push bar into the top and bottom of the door frame. Used on double doors and doors without a center mullion.
- Concealed vertical rod - Same function as vertical rod devices but the rods are hidden inside the door for a cleaner look. Common on glass and aluminum storefronts.
- Mortise exit devices - The lock body is built into the door. Provides the strongest latch engagement and is typically used on high-traffic commercial doors.
- Alarmed exit devices - The push bar triggers an audible alarm when pressed. Used on emergency exits, back doors, and restricted areas.
- Delayed-egress devices - A timed delay (typically 15 or 30 seconds) with an alarm before the door unlocks. Used in retail loss prevention and healthcare settings where allowed by code.
